Jeannie Mai and Jeezy divorce due to ‘family values and expectations’: report

Jeezy and his estranged wife, Jeannie Mai, were reportedly not on the same page when it came to certain things in their marriage.

The former co-host of “The Real” and the “My President” rapper had different opinions when it came to “certain family values and expectations,” which led to Jeezy filing for divorce last week, a source told “Entertainment Tonight.”

“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met,” the insider added.

In court documents obtained by Page Six, Jeezy — born Jay Wayne Jenkins — stated that his marriage to Mai, 44, was “irretrievably broken.”

The Grammy nominee, 45, also asked for joint legal custody of their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco.

He also stated in the court documents that he and the TV host have a prenuptial agreement in place.

Fans were shocked to learn about the split, as Mai had just shared a touching video with their toddler celebrating the success of Jeezy’s new memoir, “Adversity for Sale: Ya Gotta Believe.”

“Your story has always been an inspiration to me, but seeing it in print has left me even more in awe of your strength and wisdom,” she captioned the Sept. 6 Instagram post. “You invited us into the most intimate corners of your life, where pain and triumph coexist.”

The mom of one continued to praise her husband, writing that she was “endlessly grateful” for his “voice in this world” and “honored” to walk beside her “love.”

However, Jeezy also shared a post of his own, which seemed to hint at the demise of his marriage one day before he filed.

“Too focused on who I’m becoming to focus on who’s not coming with me. ⛄️,” the “Put On” rapper captioned a series of snaps on Instagram of himself standing next to a pricey Mercedes last week.

Noticeably, Jeezy was still wearing his wedding ring at the time.

Mai and the dad of four began dating in 2018 and tied the knot three years later at their Atlanta home.

The following January, they welcomed their daughter, Monaco.

The Emmy winner was previously married to Freddy Harteis for 10 years. However, they called it quits in 2017 partially because Mai did not want to have children at the time.
