Rumer Willis admitted that she and her boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, got the inspiration for their daughter’s moniker when they mistyped the name Loretta.

“We were thinking about the name Loretta, and it was a typo,” she told People Tuesday. “Her dad and I were texting, and he left the ‘R’ out of Loretta, and it was just Louetta.”

However, the mistake turned out to be a good one, as Willis, 35, said she actually “loved” the name.

“I was like, ‘Oh, I love that!'” she added. “I feel like it was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out actually quite early in my pregnancy.”

The new mom confessed that she did have doubts about whether the name Louetta would be a good fit for her baby girl.

“What was scary was, I love this name, but oh man, is it going to be her name?” she recalled to the magazine. “Is it the right name? What if she comes out and doesn’t look like this?

“I fell in love with the name so much, so early on, that I was then worried that it wouldn’t work. But then she came out, and I mean, to me, at least right now, I was going to name her Lou, whether she was a boy or a girl.”

The oldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore said she and Thomas, 29, also like how versatile their daughter’s name is.

“I wanted to find something that had a lot of versatility,” Rumer explained. “If she doesn’t feel like a Louetta, she can go by Lou, she can go by Etta. She can go change it up throughout her life. Whatever she wants.”

Since welcoming her baby girl, Rumer has been open about embracing motherhood and her postpartum body.

In June, she shared via Instagram Story a snap of her “mom bod” before telling fans that she was entering her “Hot 🌶️  Mom Thirst Trap Era” while posing in a tube top and bomber jacket.

However, not all of her fans have been as receptive as Rumer was forced to defend herself for sharing a selfie where she breastfed Louetta.

When one user asked “why” she shared the sweet snap, the “House Bunny” actress simply replied, “[Be]cause I want to.”

She also clapped back in a lengthy statement after another troll called her an “insecure … narcissist,” saying that “nursing a baby is very private and should not be displayed like a circus event.”

“I’m sorry that you hold such a limited view of it,” she wrote. “I think it’s incredibly important to share because there is an incredible amount of shame that comes with being born into a female body and I want to lead by example in teaching my daughter that she doesn’t have to be ashamed of her body ever and that she can decide how she wants to share it.”
