Britney Spears, Sam Asghari appeared ‘miserable’ in last pics before breakup
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari were not a picture-perfect couple in the days leading up to their separation.
The “Toxic” singer, 41, and “Family Business” actor, 29, were photographed on a sun-soaked vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, together on July 16, but seemed cold and distant from each other.
Spears, for her part, was seen walking closely beside her bodyguard, wearing a long-sleeve red dress with an oversize pink T-shirt over it. Her hair was pulled back into a high bun and she wore shades to shield herself from the sun.
Meanwhile, Asghari wore a salmon-colored shirt and khaki shorts during the trip. He also carried a camouflage-print backpack.
Both the “Hold Me Closer ” singer and fitness model completed their looks with lackluster expressions, giving the impression that they were “miserable” despite being on a sunny getaway.
A few days after that sighting, Spears revealed on social media that she had felt “nauseous” on the trip and even thought she might be expecting a child.
“I will be honest I woke up this morning and thought I was pregnant because I’m so nauseous but I think it’s the sun !!!” she captioned a post on Instagram July 25.
“If we’re all under the same sun you guys have to be feeling coo coo too !!!”
Asghari revealed via his divorce filing Wednesday that the estranged couple allegedly decided to separate on July 28. A few days after the decision was allegedly made, he posted a photo of himself on social media without his wedding band on.
An exact reason for the split has not been given, but the “Slumber Party” music video star cited “irreconcilable differences” in court documents, according to multiple outlets.
TMZ reported earlier Wednesday that Asghari wanted to call it quits after he and Spears allegedly got into a heated dispute following claims that the pop star had been unfaithful.
Page Six has been unable to independently confirm the cheating allegations and a source told “Entertainment Tonight” Wednesday that Spears is “adamant she didn’t cheat.”
“The two haven’t got along for a while and it finally came to an end after a major blowup,” the insider added.

Meanwhile, Page Six exclusively learned Wednesday that Asghari is allegedly seeking to amend the terms of his and Spears’ prenuptial agreement and making threats in order to get it renegotiated.
A source told us the ex-personal trainer is “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”
Asghari seemingly confirmed at least part of the allegations in his divorce filing, as his lawyer, Neal Hersh, reportedly hinted in the court documents that his client might contest the prenup and “has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party.”
However, a separate source also told us Wednesday that Spears’ team has “protected” the “Piece of Me” singer and that “parting will be respectful.”
“It’s blackmail and it’ll never happen,” the insider added in response to the “Can You Keep a Secret?” actor’s alleged threats.
Spears and Asghari, who tied the knot in a fairy-tale wedding in June 2022 after dating for five years, have yet to speak out publicly about the looming divorce.
However, the “Everytime” singer appeared unbothered in an Instagram post Wednesday evening. She did not address the split and instead shared that she was looking into “buying a horse soon.”
