Zendaya pays tribute to ‘Euphoria’ co-star Angus Cloud after his death: ‘Grief looks different for everyone’

Zendaya paid tribute to her late “Euphoria” co-star Angus Cloud after his death at the age of 25.
“Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor),” the HBO teen drama’s lead actress wrote on Instagram Tuesday, using Cloud’s birth name alongside a black-and-white photo of him.
“I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it),” she continued.
“I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…’they could light up any room they entered’ but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment.”
The Emmy winner, 26, concluded her post, “My heart is with his mother and family at this time and please be kind and patient as grief looks different for everyone.”
Prior to making it big, Zendaya and Cloud both attended the prestigious Oakland School for the Arts in California.
“We had some of the same friends … but I didn’t really know her,” he told the Wall Street Journal in 2019, the same year “Euphoria” premiered.
But Zendaya and Cloud quickly became close on set while playing teen drug addict Rue Bennett and her dealer-turned-friend Fezco, respectively.
Fez memorably thought of Rue as a sister throughout the show’s first two seasons, at one point becoming so concerned for her well-being that he refused to continue supplying her drugs.
“I’m not gonna help you kill yourself, Rue,” he said in one episode.

Cloud battled addiction in real life and had been in and out of rehab prior to his untimely death, according to his former manager Diomi Cordero.
The actor was found dead in his family’s Oakland, Calif., home Monday, just two months after losing his beloved father, Conor Hickey, to cancer.
Cloud’s family said in a statement that he had “intensely struggled” with Hickey’s death.
“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” the family shared.
“Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
While the “Freaky Tales” star’s cause of death has yet to be determined, his mother, Lisa Cloud, reported a “possible overdose” when she called 911. She also said he did not have a pulse.
A source later told Page Six that Angus had been battling suicidal thoughts after returning home from Ireland, where his father was buried.
