Ariana Grande giving Ethan Slater ‘space’ as he ‘works things out’ with estranged wife: report
Ariana Grande and her boyfriend, Ethan Slater, are reportedly taking amicable time apart as he sorts out the details of his ongoing divorce.
The “7 Rings” singer is giving the Broadway star “space” to “work things out” with his estranged wife, Lilly Jay, as the two navigate divorce and custody of their 11-month-old son, TMZ reported Saturday.
The “Wicked” co-stars reportedly haven’t seen each other in weeks as a result.
Slater, whose relationship with Grande became public knowledge on July 20, has been in New York City hashing out the details with Jay, while the “God Is A Woman” songstress has been elsewhere, according to sources.
Despite the distance, TMZ confirmed that Slater and Grande — who is in the midst of her own divorce — are still dating.
Reps for the couple did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Earlier this week, Slater filed for divorce from Jay, his wife of nearly four years, in a New York court.
The reason for the dissolution of their marriage was not made immediately available.
It does not appear that Grande, 30, and her estranged husband, Dalton Gomez, have filed for divorce yet.
According to TMZ, Slater and Jay have remained in contact daily regarding their child, whom the “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical” star “desperately” wants to co-parent.

While the estranged couple has been reportedly working things out, Jay has been vocal about her feelings toward Grande.
In an exclusive interview with Page Six, the musician said that “Thank U, Next” singer is “not a girl’s girl” and that her family was just “collateral damage.”
However, sources told Page Six that Jay had been acting differently towards Slater, 31, behind the scenes.
“She’s telling Ethan and others that she only cares about protecting their child,” our insider alleged.
“She’s rightfully upset because her marriage fell apart, but Ariana and Ethan didn’t do anything wrong,” the source added, explaining that Jay and Slater had been separated for two months before Grande and Slater got romantically involved.
“Ethan is trying to take the high road and hopes he can resolve this situation for the sake of their child,” the insider concluded.
Meanwhile, Grande’s former beau, Gomez, 27, has reportedly been dating again for “months” — since he and the pop star split sometime in January.
Grande and Gomez were married for two years before calling it quits.
