Gabourey Sidibe shares hilarious ‘boob tape’ malfunction: ‘I might need to take a class’
Looks like this star got herself into a sticky situation.
Gabourey Sidibe shared her wardrobe woes on Instagram yesterday after she battled with fashion tape — and lost — in an attempt to secure her plunging dress.
“How y’all be doin Boob Tape? I might need to take a class,” the 40-year-old “Precious” actress captioned a mirror snapshot of herself wearing a low-cut lime green dress with balls of clear tape sticking out.
Fashion tape malfunction aside, Sidibe looked ready for summer fun in her colorful dress and coordinating statement earrings.
The Oscar nominee later shared a triumphant photo on her Instagram Story with the bunched-up tape all gone as the “American Horror Story” star flashed a peace sign at the camera and wrote, “I figured out the titty tape!”
Plenty of her fans related to the incident, like one who wrote, “I ripped my skin off this morning removing boob tape. I need a lesson too.”
“Sign me up too cause my tape does not stick,” a second commented.
“Gabbbyyyyyyyyy lmaoo baby you wrapped them thangs better than a Christmas present 😂😂😂” another Instagram user added.
Meanwhile, her stylist, Kelly Augustine, wrote, “Now Gabby 😂 Please just call me next time.”
The “Empire” actress — who secretly married Brandon Fankel in 2021 — loves to keep it real on social media, whether it’s sharing funny stories about her marriage or her beloved cats.

Sidibe revealed her casual kitchen table wedding on an episode of “Live with Kelly and Ryan” last year, telling the hosts, “So, the thing about weddings is I don’t like them. Here’s an example of how much I don’t like weddings. I’m actually married. We got married over a year ago.”
The “Prank Panel” star — who announced her directorial debut in 2021 —has also spoken out about her size, telling Teen Vogue that she was “too fat” for some designers to dress her.
“Even though we are moving towards more visibility for plus-size people, there is a lot [of] pushback,” she told the mag, adding how visibility and “fighting” was important until discussions can move beyond focusing on size.
“I’m not my body,” she continued. “I’m a whole person.”
