Kelly Clarkson ripped for promoting music instead of addressing ‘toxic’ show claims

Kelly Clarkson’s fans are disappointed she chose to promote new music shortly after news broke that her talk show is an allegedly “toxic” work environment.

“Uhhhhh. Are you going to address what’s happening with your show? The toxic environment with the producers? The potential WGA violations involving producers writing your episodes? This is extremely concerning, honestly,” one of many upset social media users commented beneath the “Kelly Clarkson Show” host’s Friday afternoon Instagram post about her forthcoming single.

“you’re my favorite kind of high 🤍 new song from my album #chemistry comes out on 5.19! pre-save now. link in bio,” the singer captioned the track’s cover art featuring a black-and-white photo of her.

“PLEASE ADDRESS THE TOXIC WORKING ENVIRONMENT AT YOUR TALK SHOW BEFORE YOU BECOME THE NEXT ELLEN,” another critic begged, referring to Ellen DeGeneres, whose titular talk show ended last May following similar workplace claims.

However, unlike DeGeneres — whose “be kind” mantra purportedly masked her allegedly abusive set — Clarkson’s personal reputation has so far been spared.

One current and 10 former staffers of the Grammy winner’s daytime program spoke to Rolling Stone for a bombshell exposé published Friday morning, claiming they were “bullied and intimidated” by the show’s “monster” producers, “overworked,” “underpaid” and overall “traumatized” by the experience.

But the employees made sure to note that they don’t think Clarkson, 41, is aware of the situation because they believe she’s been shielded from it.

“NBC is protecting the show because it’s their new money maker, but Kelly has no clue how unhappy her staff is,” one ex-employee claimed to the magazine.

Another called the “American Idol” Season 1 winner “fantastic” and described her as someone who “never treats anyone with anything but dignity and is incredibly appreciative.”

“I would be shocked if she knew,” they added. “I’d be floored if she knew the staff wasn’t getting paid for two weeks of Christmas hiatus. The Kelly that I interacted with and that everyone knows would probably be pretty aghast to learn that.”

Several of the songstress’ fans defended her in the comments section of her controversial last post, writing things like, “Uhhhh she doesn’t handle her social media and give her some damn time to actually figure out what’s happening? 🙄.”

Reps for Clarkson did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
