Ireland Baldwin’s mom, Kim Basinger, ‘mortified’ by strip club baby shower
Kim Basinger may be “pretty open” — but Ireland Baldwin’s strip club-themed baby shower was too much for her.
“She was totally mortified,” the pregnant star told “High Low with EmRata” podcast listeners Tuesday of the March party.
“She watched me and my boyfriend get lap dances from eight strippers on the stage, and I think she was just like, ‘What is happening right now?'” Baldwin, 27, recalled.
“She didn’t even know what to do with the money,” she continued. “She threw a crumpled dollar bill as fast and as hard as she could … because she was so scared.”
Baldwin went on to say Basinger, 69, “hid in a corner” after ordering “a pinot grigio at the bar with ice.”
The “L.A. Confidential” star’s rare appearance at the party made headlines at the time as she was photographed exiting Jumbo’s Clown Room with boyfriend Micah Stone.
Basinger sported a gray pantsuit, a black blouse and black shoes to the Hollywood venue.
The Oscar winner welcomed her daughter in 1995 with then-husband Alec Baldwin, but the “30 Rock” alum was not present at the baby bash.

As for Ireland’s boyfriend RAC’s parents, they “thankfully” missed the party as well.
The expectant star’s “Christian family” members were also not in attendance, with Ireland clarifying that they “were [not] invited” in the first place.
She and the 38-year-old musician, whose real name is André Allen Anjos, revealed in December 2022 that they are starting a family. The couple plan to name their baby girl Holland.
Due to her body dysmorphia struggles, gaining weight has been “hard” for the mom-to-be during her pregnancy, she told Emily Ratajkowski in Tuesday’s episode.
Ireland also opened up about “hysterically crying” over her appearance since she shaved her head shortly before conceiving, advising other moms not to follow her example.
