Bam Margera turns himself in after police issue arrest warrant

Bam Margera turned himself in to Pennsylvania State Police Thursday morning, three days after authorities announced they were issued a warrant for his arrest, Page Six can confirm.

Police spokesperson Myles Snyder tells Page Six that the “Viva La Bam” alum, 43, surrendered at the Avondale station, which is the precinct that was conducting the initial investigation.

The communications director adds that Margera was then “preliminarily arraigned” by Judge Albert Iacocca at a local district court and bail was set at $50,000 “unsecured.”

Margera’s attorney Michael van der Veen, who was present for the arraignment, tells Page Six that his client entered a plea of not guilty and will be undergoing a drug and alcohol evaluation as “many defendants have to [do] when out on bail.”

The troubled MTV alum is scheduled to return to court on May 25 for another preliminary hearing and he is not currently in custody, we’re also told.

When asked whether police have any concern that Margera will once again go missing – as he had been difficult to locate in recent days – Snyder says the “Jackass” alum appears to know the “consequences of his alleged actions” since he turned himself in.

Meanwhile, van der Veen denies that his client was ever “on the run” and says that Margera surrendered as soon as he learned that there was a warrant out for his arrest.

Per court documents obtained by Page Six, the TV personality is facing six different charges, including one count of simple assault, one count of harassment and four counts of terroristic threats with the intention to terrorize another.

Pennsylvania State Police launched an investigation Sunday after cops responded to a call of a reported disturbance near Pocopson Township.

Authorities concluded that Margera had been involved in a “physical altercation” with an unnamed person, which Page Six later identified was his older brother, Jess Margera.

However, by the time police arrived at the scene, Bam had disappeared into the woods and was unreachable for a few days.

Jess fired off a series of tweets Wednesday that called into question the state of Bam’s mental health. Twitter

Jess took to Twitter on Wednesday to make a public plea about his younger brother’s mental health condition.

The CKY drummer, 44, alleged that Bam was “unrecognizable” as he had been doing meth and was having a “meltdown” as a result.

“It’s really scary & heartbreaking,” the seemingly concerned brother added.

Jess also asked his Twitter followers if there was a way for police to “track” a person’s phone since he was “extremely worried” that Bam was on the run with his new girlfriend and her 8-year-old child.

Reps for the former pro skateboarder declined Page Six’s multiple requests for comment.

However, Bam released a statement on Instagram after he surrendered Thursday, saying, “I just got out of the courthouse with my lawyers. Everything went great and the false accusations of what my brother says are not true and he will be sued for defamation as well as being evicted from castle bam sooner than later.

“The reason this happened is because I read his phone saying he wants me back in California and he wants to find a way to 302 me. F– him.”

Bam has been dealing with serious legal and mental health issues for years. He was arrested for public intoxication in March, months after he was in and out of rehab.

In 2019, the father of one disclosed he had been diagnosed with manic bipolar disorder.
