Jermaine Dupri speculates Tekashi 6ix9ine attack was ‘like a bounty’

Hip hop producer Jermaine Dupri says Tekashi 6ix9ine’s recent attack is like something out of a Western, complete with a “wanted poster” and a “bounty.”

“It’s almost like if you see him out, it’s that ‘let’s get him’… type of mentality,” the “Money Ain’t a Thang” rapper told Page Six in a wide-ranging interview.

“It feels like you get rewarded. I feel like it was like a bounty out for that. Like first person that records Tekashi 6ix9ine getting beat up, they are going to get money or something like that,” he speculated to Page Six.

Video was posted on Twitter on Mar. 21 of controversial Tekashi 6ix9ine being severely beaten by three men at a gym in South Florida.

Dupri told us of the violent viral video: “I don’t like the fact that now people perpetuated for that to happen. I think it’s crazy that people perpetuated it. But the thing is, it actually happened and now people are saying it is f-ked up.”

Rainbow-haired rapper Tekashi was seen bloodied in the video as he curled into a ball on the bathroom floor. The attackers yelled at the Brooklyn rapper to “shut the f–k up” as they continued to mercilessly pummel him.

Dupri, 50, added of the shocking video, “It feels like if you’d like we were in one of them old cowboy movies with a person’s picture on the wall. If you see him as a reward. If he was like that’s what people do with their phones. Like it’s a reward, a bounty.”

Said Dupri: “People will reach and want to be the first person to do it and attack, to record to be the first to post, and I’m gonna win. But you’re not gonna get nothing. I just feel like the internet has the black and brown people really confused at this point in time.”

Some online commenters mocked the 26-year-old because he was labeled a snitch during his 2019 trail garnering him less jail time. onlyindade/Twitter

Previously, Tekashi 6is9ine was sentenced to two years in prison for his alleged role with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang. He would’ve faced more time, but infamously gave insider information to avoid added jail time.

He said of his online critics who called him a snitch at the time, “Ya understand why I snitched, ya don’t wanna understand.”
