Lady Gaga is vampy in sheer Versace on Oscars 2023 red carpet

Lady Gaga is back.

The superstar made a surprise appearance on Sunday night’s Oscars 2023 red carpet just hours after it was announced that she will be performing during the star-studded event.

She went for a bold all-black Versace ballgown featuring a sheer corseted top and a full skirt and finished the look with glossy red lipstick, darkly dramatic eye makeup and a slicked-back bun.

The look is literally straight off the runway; Gigi Hadid wore it on the Versace catwalk during the brand’s star-studded fashion show staged in Los Angeles three days before the Oscars.

Gaga, 36, is set to sing “Hold My Hand,” her song from “Top Gun: Maverick,” which is nominated for the Academy Award for Best Music (Original Song) tonight.

She’s up against “Applause” by Diane Warren and “This Is a Life” by Mitski and David Byrne as well as “Lift Me Up” by Rihanna — who is also set to perform later tonight.

It’s unclear whether Lady Gaga plans to change for her performance — though given the superstar’s penchant for outfit changes, we wouldn’t be surprised if she trotted out a second (or even a third) designer look tonight.

Her appearance comes after Oscars executive producer and showrunner Glenn Weiss said in a press conference earlier this month that Gaga would not be present due to her filming schedule for “Joker: Folie à Deux,” the sequel to 2019’s “Joker.”
