Lauren Sánchez: Jeff Bezos and I are like the ‘Brady Bunch’
Lauren Sánchez’s and Jeff Bezos’ families are so blended they believe they’re the “Brady Bunch.”
The Emmy Award-winning reporter told WSJ. magazine that she and the Amazon founder live low-key lives when they’re with their children.
“On a typical Saturday, we hang out, we have dinner with the kids, which is always fun because you never know where the conversation is going to go with this many kids,” Sánchez told the magazine.
“We are the Brady Bunch!”
Sánchez has three kids from previous relationships, while Bezos has four from his marriage to MacKenzie Scott.
The longtime couple live together in Beverly Hills, Calif., but also share homes in Washington, D.C., and Seattle, where Bezos founded his tech company. Since their relationship began in 2019 – following his $38 billion divorce from Scott – Bezos and Sánchez have become inseparable.
“It’s the greatest experience I’ve ever had. I’ve always had a career very separate from my partner,” she explained. “I think now that I can work with my partner and be with him all the time… .We love to be together and we love to work together.
“He’s helping me with the book,” Sánchez, 53, added of the children’s book she has in the works. “He’s getting his pilot’s license. We fly together. We work out together. We’re together all the time.”
She even joked that Bezos, 59, “stole” her personal trainer, Wes Okerson.
“Jeff is extremely dedicated to his workouts,” she shared. “I mean, you have no idea. He really puts in the work.”
While Bezos’ ex-wife has donated the bulk of the fortune she received in their divorce to charity, it looks like the tech mogul has the same plan.
“Jeff has always told me, since I’ve known him, that he’s going to give the majority of his money to philanthropy,” Sánchez shared. “Not surprising to me at all. He just never felt the need to have to say it.”
