Tristan Thompson’s mom, Andrea, suddenly dies from heart attack
Tristan Thompson’s mom, Andrea, has died suddenly, Page Six has confirmed.
A source tells us that Thompson’s mother went into cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated. We’re told her death was “unexpected.”
According to TMZ, who first reported the news, Andrea was at her home on Thursday when she suffered the heart attack and was rushed to a local hospital where medics tried to resuscitate her to no avail.
Thompson, 31, and ex Khloé Kardashian, 38, took a private jet from Los Angeles to Toronto to be with his family, sources told the website.
Our source added that Kardashian will be supportive of Thompson and by his side during this time of difficulty as he is the father of her two children. They co-parent 4-year-old daughter True and just welcomed a son via surrogate in August.
Following her sudden passing, Kris Jenner posted a tribute to Andrea, sharing multiple shots from Kardashian’s baby shower when she was pregnant with True, as well as birthday celebrations.
“I am so heartbroken by the sudden passing of Tristan’s mom, Andrea. My thoughts, prayers and all of my love are with Tristan, Amari, Dishawn and Daniel,” she captioned her Instagram post.
“You were the most amazing, dedicated, devoted, and selfless mom and such a loving, kind, and fabulous grandmother. What a blessing you were to your family!!! I will miss you Andrea. I will miss your bright spirit and amazing light. Thank you for always praying for us and lifting us up and encouraging us along the way. Rest in peace beautiful angel🙏❤️.”
The NBA star frequently posts photos with his mom — who is a school bus driver — and even shared a snap of Andrea with True in 2019.
Back in 2020, Thompson shared a sweet message honoring his late mom on Mother’s Day along with a video of Andrea gushing about her son.
“Happy Mother’s Day Mommy! One day isn’t enough to praise and lift you high,” he wrote at the time. “Everyday is your day. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me and my brothers. I love you and I’m soo lucky to have been chosen as your son❤️. Not all superheroes wear capes.”
Thompson has yet to publicly comment on his mother’s death but Page Six has reached out to his rep for comment.
