Ever wonder what your favorite celebrities buy when they’re browsing their favorite boutique or shopping online late at night? Welcome to Six Picks, where we ask stars to spill their style and beauty must-haves — so you can shop like you’re famous, too.

Celebrity stylist Kate Young, whose many A-list clients include Selena Gomez and Margot Robbie, knows a thing or two about what’s going on behind the scenes of (and underneath) red carpet looks.

“Undergarments make the clothes look how they should,” Young, who recently partnered with Bare Necessities, tells Page Six Style. “They help to make things smooth and not bunchy or messy-looking.”

The in-demand expert styled a slew of sleek looks in 2022, ranging from Uma Thurman’s Oscars separates to the Barbiecore-pink Valentino getup Selena Gomez sported following her December “SNL” appearance.

But Young job’s isn’t all glitz and glamour. “So much of it revolves around shipping,” she says of styling stars. “Clothes come from all over the world, so our lives are often derailed by stuck packages.”

Not everything she selects comes with European designer labels and hefty price tags, either, as she’s also embraced more budget-friendly brands over the years — including dressing Gomez in a pink Mango suit for a red carpet last spring.

“I try to include young designers and more affordable brands because that’s the way women dress,” says Young. “It’s all about a good wardrobe, not just a perfect look.”

To steal some of Young’s secrets for your own wardrobe, shop six must-haves she always keeps in her kit.
