Drake’s new diamond engagement-ring necklace could be worth $12.5M
Drake is certainly shining bright like a diamond these days.
On Tuesday, the “Rich Flex” rapper showcased a brand-new blinged-out necklace courtesy of jeweler Alex Moss that paid homage to all the women he’s loved before.
Diamond expert Zack Stone of UK jeweler Steven Stone believes the “Passionfruit” rapper’s icy chain is worth a whopping $12.5 million.
“New piece titled ‘Previous Engagements’ for all the times he thought about it but never did it,” Moss wrote over a video showcasing the stunning necklace, which is made up of “42 engagement rings” totaling “351.38 carats in diamonds.��
As the jeweler revealed in an Instagram Reel, the piece took 14 months to make and every diamond was hand-selected. The multimillion-bling includes round-, emerald-, princess- and pear-cut diamonds, all set in 18k white gold.
“Drake’s ‘Previous Engagements’ necklace is a magnificent piece of jewelry and probably the most impressive we’ve seen since Kendrick Lamar wore his diamond crown of thorns headpiece during his Glastonbury headline set back in June,” Stone said in a statement shared with Page Six Style.
Stone added that it’s “difficult to estimate a striking piece like this, particularly without information about the quality, but it looks to be worth approximately $12.5 million.”
While Champagne Papi’s relationships with A-listers like Rashida Jones, Tyra Banks, SZA, Julia Fox and Rihanna might not have lasted, diamonds are forever.
“Central to the intricate piece is a pear-cut diamond,” Stone pointed out.
“Pear-cut diamonds are a timeless, vintage cut that represent an emotional bond or connection — suggesting that the rapper is keen to pay homage to his failed relationships with the piece, rather than spite them.”
