‘GMA3’ airs without T.J. Holmes, Amy Robach: ‘They have the day off’

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were absent from their little-known “GMA3” Monday as their alleged affair drama continues to draw backlash.

Co-anchors Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez manned the desk in their place.

“Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have the day off,” Ramos said with a smile.

T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach sat out of “GMA3” Monday afternoon.

The show proceeded as usual without missing a beat.

Page Six confirmed early Monday that ABC News chiefs decided to take the couple off the air because their scandal became too much of a distraction.

“After a lot of thought, I am taking Amy and T.J. off the air as we figure this out,” ABC News president Kim Godwin said during an internal phone call.

Godwin added that while Holmes and Robach’s alleged affair was “not a violation of company policy,” the decision to pull them temporarily was necessary for the “Good Morning America” brand as a whole.

The anchors who will sit in their seats for the rest of the week have yet to be determined.

Robach and Holmes’ affair was outed last week when the Daily Mail published photos of them canoodling around New York City and upstate despite being married to Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, respectively.

While we’re told Robach, 49, is close to finalizing her divorce from Shue, 55, sources told us that Fiebig was “blindsided” by the alleged affair as she and Holmes, 45, had reconciled amid strain in their marriage and went to the Bahamas together for his birthday in August.

“She’s devastated. She had no idea,” our insider shared.

Unfortunately, it turned out that Fiebig had been blindsided by the Robach romance because she had been preoccupied with Holmes’ affair with another “GMA” producer, Natasha Singh.

“She fell in love with him. He had a key to her apartment,” another insider told us.

Beyond the temporary removal, Holmes and Robach won’t be punished for their alleged affair. ABC

Fiebig found out about the affair in 2019 after discovering several emails, we’re told.

“Marilee never considered Amy because she was focused on Natasha. She never thought about [him cheating] with Amy because they were friends,” a source explained. “Amy’s daughter was their daughter’s baby-sitter.”

Fiebig found out about Holmes’ new relationship with Robach while on their trip to the Bahamas when she discovered a birthday card from the broadcaster that was too personal.
