Al Roker leaves hospital after missing Thanksgiving Day Parade: ‘So very thankful’

Al Roker is “so very thankful” to have made it home for Thanksgiving with his family.

The “Today” weatherman shared a health update with fans via social media on Thursday after missing out on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in 27 years.

A cheery Roker, 68, posted a video of himself in comfy attire as he walked around the hallways of a hospital.

“Alright, this is my version of the Thanksgiving Day Parade,” he said. “Getting ready to leave the hospital. Time to blow this taco stand. Woohoo!”

The weather anchor later informed fans that he made it home just “in time” to catch some of the parade commentary from “Today” colleagues Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.

“So very #thankful to be able to be home for #thanksgiving#dinner with #family,” he wrote in another post shared via Instagram.

“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been,” Roker wrote in a Nov. 18 Instagram post amid growing concern over his absence from the “Today” show.

“Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs. After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery.”

Roker concluded his post by thanking fans for “all the well wishes” and prayers.

“Hope to see you soon,” he added. “Have a great weekend, everyone.”
