Zoë Kravitz: ‘I don’t know if I want’ marriage, kids after Karl Glusman divorce
Zoë Kravitz is questioning whether she wants marriage and children following her and Karl Glusman’s divorce.
“I just learned to think about who I am and what I want,” the actress told GQ of their 2021 breakup, which came 18 months after they tied the knot.
“You meet someone who’s amazing and wants to marry you, and there’s nothing wrong with that,” the “Big Little Lies” alum, 33, added.
“If there’s nothing wrong, then why wouldn’t you do it? You love them and that’s what you do.”
Kravitz revealed she has since been asking herself “a hard” and “uncomfortable question” about her future.
“Maybe I don’t want the thing that I’m supposed to want, a marriage, children, any of it. I don’t know if I want that at all,” she said.
”That’s an uncomfortable question, especially for a woman to ask herself.”
Although Kravitz found domestic life “exciting” in some ways, she “realize[d] there’s still a lot of life to be had.”
The “Batman” star explained, “I’m done romanticizing the ‘old is domestic’ thing. It’s cute for a minute and then it’s not.”
She and Glusman, 34, began dating in 2016, getting engaged two years later. The duo wed in June 2019.
Kravitz filed for divorce in January 2021, and it was finalized in August of that same year.
Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz’s daughter called her breakup “sad” but “beautiful” in a September 2021 interview with Another magazine.
Five months later, Zoë referred to the model as an “incredible human being.”
She told Elle in February that the split really was “less about him and more about me learning how to ask … questions.”
The “Pussy Island” director has since moved on with Channing Tatum, who was previously married to Jenna Dewan from 2009 to 2019. The former couple share 9-year-old daughter Everly.
Zoë gushed about the “Magic Mike” actor, whom she calls “Chan,” in GQ’s “Man of the Year” issue.
The 42-year-old is her “protector,” Zoë said, adding, “He’s just a wonderful human. He makes me laugh and we both really love art.”
