Inside Olivia Wilde’s love triangle with Harry Styles, Jason Sudeikis

Olivia Wilde has made it clear that she wants to tell her own story — but she keeps getting called out by other characters.

This week, Wilde, 38, found herself back in the headlines yet again following a bombshell interview with her former nannynamed by TMZ as Erika Genaro — all about her split from Jason Sudeikis and subsequent taking up with Harry Styles.

Among alleged revelations of Sudeikis being so distraught that he blocked Wilde’s car with his body and Wilde giving up her dog to spend more time with new boyfriend was the thing that seemed to crush Sudeikis: Wilde took her special salad and dressing and left him and their two kids to have dinner with Styles.

Finally, after online commenters and the media spent more than a day guessing what was in this magical dressing, Wilde posted to Instagram a page from Nora Ephron’s storied roman à clef “Heartburn,” about the breakdown of the late journalist and filmmaker’s marriage to Carl Bernstein.

The photo revealed the simple, three-ingredient dressing — olive oil, red wine vinegar, Grey Poupon — but it was hard not to read something in the words at the top of the page, too.

“Because if I tell the story, I can make you laugh, and I would rather have you laugh at me than feel sorry for me,” Ephron writes. “Because if I tell the story, it doesn’t hurt as much. Because if I tell the story, I can get on with it.”

No one ever said Wilde isn’t a savvy narrator.

While promoting “Don’t Worry Darling” — the movie she directed and on which she connected with Styles — over the past few months, Wilde has insisted that there was no overlap with Sudeikis and Styles.

“The complete horses–t idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely inaccurate,” she told Vanity Fair. “Our relationship was over long before I met Harry.

“Like any relationship that ends, it doesn’t end overnight. Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road, and we officially dissolved the relationship towards the beginning of the [COVID-19] pandemic,” she continued. “We were raising two kids during lockdown, so we co-parented through that time.”

Sudeikis, apparently, was on a different page. The actor, according to the nanny, only discovered Wilde was seeing Styles when he found messages between them on her Apple watch.

“When I saw Olivia holding hands as a couple with Harry in the news, I was shocked, as just a month before, when we were in LA, she was sending Jason messages saying she loved him,” Genaro told the Daily Mail. She said that Sudeikis had showed her texts and let her listen to Wilde’s voice memos and voicemails.

“Then Jason said, ‘She was just here [at the house], and she was naked in the pool and then she slept with me naked in the bed,’” the nanny claimed. “She was sending him voice messages saying he was her everything.”

Representatives for Sudeikis and Wilde were unavailable for comment.

Genaro’s comments back up the Page Six exclusive from January 2021 when sources claimed their relationship had actually been going on as far back as October 2020, leaving “Saturday Night Live” vet Sudeikis distraught.

In fact, Wilde was talking marriage to Sudeikis as late as October 2020, the nanny said, but then broke up with the actor a month later.

Genaro said Wilde’s alleged love bombing sent Sudeikis “a lot of mixed messages.”

“It was, ‘How can this be that she was just in this relationship, and now she’s holding hands with a different person in front of everyone a month later?’” she said.

Styles and Wilde were first spotted holding hands at his manager’s wedding in January 2021.

Genaro even alleged to the Daily Mail that actress Florence Pugh was actually seeing her “Don’t Worry Darling” co-star Styles before he started dating Wilde. The nanny said in a video interview that Sudeikis told her that “Flo was f—ing Harry.”

As Page Six previously revealed, Pugh fell out with Wilde during filming. Pugh’s reps were unavailable for comment.

Many internet commenters have criticized Wilde being seen with Styles at his concerts across the country while her and Sudeikis’ children, 6-year-old Daisy and Otis, 8, have spent a lot of time with Sudeikis in London, where he’s been filming the new season of his Apple TV hit “Ted Lasso.”

Earlier this month, Wilde told Elle magazine: “I share custody of my kids with my ex. If I’m photographed not with my kids, people assume I have abandoned them, like my kids are just somewhere in a hot car without me. The suggestion is that I’ve abandoned my role as a mother. You know why you don’t see me with my kids? Because I don’t let them get photographed. Do you know the lengths that I go to to protect my kids from being seen by you?”

According to texts shared by the nanny, while filming “Don’t Worry Darling” in November 2020, Wilde chose to stay at a Palm Springs hotel that had a “no kids policy.”

“Apparently Daisy isn’t allowed on the property of the hotel I’m staying in PS,” Wilde’s text says.

in her video, the nanny said that Sudeikis was “more hands-on than Olivia” with the children. “Jason always knew the kids’ schedule or would ask me,”  she said.

She added that after Wilde moved out of the home the couple were sharing in LA, the actress checked into the $1,650-a-night Paramour Estate Hotel nearby while she was very busy filming “Don’t Worry Darling.”

“She would come over for dinner sometimes with the kids, hardly ever though, hop in hop out — I called them ‘hop ins’ … once or twice a week maybe pushing it three times,” Genaro said. “Jason was taking care of himself and going to therapy and trying to work on really hard to get her back. He wanted to get her back.”

In April, Wilde was served custody papers as she took the stage in Las Vegas at CinemaCon to promote “Don’t Worry Darling” to exhibitors.

At the time, Sudeikis said in a statement to Page Six that he had “no prior knowledge” of the ambush and “would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”

But Wilde wasn’t having it. “In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn’t have been able to happen,” she later told Variety. “There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary. The hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room with several badges, plus special COVID tests that had to be taken days in advance, which gave you wristbands that were necessary to gain access to the event — this was something that required forethought.”

She called the move “sabotage” and added: “But, you know, sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there’s a reason I left that relationship.”

Remarkably, Sudeikis and Wilde were united as they launched a defense against Genaro. In a statement to Page Six, the former couple said: “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly.

“Her now 18-month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”

Efforts to reach Genaro for comment were unsuccessful.

One source who knows the couple said: “The statement says everything. They haven’t come together for anything other than their kids.

“This woman was trying to smear them as people but more importantly as parents, and so the fact they are a united front on this tells you everything.”

For her part, Wilde maintains that people are questioning her side of the story because of her gender. “It is just very different standards that are created for women and men — in the world at large, we’re not just talking about Hollywood,” she told Stephen Colbert.

“The last two years, my family has gone through this kind of restructuring and a revolution that should be a totally personal experience,” Wilde told Variety: “And it’s not. The most painful element of it has been women shaming me for making a decision that was for my own health and happiness.”
