Drake throws ‘twin’ son Adonis an epic 5th birthday party
He’s a super dad!
Drake threw his son, Adonis, an extravagant superhero-themed 5th birthday party.
“Happy 5th to my twin 🤞🏽💖,” the “Jimmy Cooks” rapper captioned a series of photos from the celebration on Instagram Tuesday.
Adonis was photographed having the time of his life as he played arcade games with friends and family.
Drake, 35, and his mini-me rocked the same braided hairstyle for the occasion. Adonis wore a “Jurassic World” dinosaur-print T-shirt, black sweatpants and a cape to be on theme. Meanwhile, his dad looked casual in a black button-down and a pair of matching pants.
The room was decorated with cardboard cutouts of superheroes and intricate balloon displays, and at one point Adonis was seen getting an autograph from a Spider-Man impersonator.
Adonis’ mom, Sophie Brussaux, also took to Instagram to share a photo from the festivities and gushed over her son and his famous father.
“Joyeux anniversaire mon amoureux…5 ans déjà,” the France native, 33, wrote, which translates to, “Happy birthday my love…5 years already.”
She added, “I’m so proud of the beautiful human you are growing up to be. We’ve done a great job @champagnepapi.”
For the party, Brussaux wore black leather pants and a blue leather collared shirt with her hair in a bun.
News broke in May 2018 that Drake and Brussaux had welcomed a child together when Pusha T, who has had beef with Drizzy since 2006, revealed in a diss track that his rival secretly fathered a child. Drake then confirmed his son’s existence on his album “Scorpion,” which was released a month later.
Despite the initial drama surrounding his child, Drake has been a proud papa and shared the first photos of Adonis in March 2020.
He later opened up about his decision to post the pictures after keeping his son under the radar for two years.
“It was great for me. It was great to just share that with the world,” Drake said on Lil Wayne’s “Young Money Radio” on Apple Music in May 2020.
“I just felt like, it wasn’t even anything I talked to anybody about or anything I planned. I just woke up one morning and was like, ‘You know what? This is just something that I want to do,’” he said.
The Grammy winner added that he didn’t want his celebrity status to impact his son.
“I don’t want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be a ‘celebrity’ that I got to make everybody live under this blanket,” he explained. “I just wanted to free myself of that.”
Drake has thrown Adonis several lavish birthday parties over the years, including a car-themed fête for his 4th and a party with a black-and-silver color scheme for his 3rd.
