It wasn’t the easiest album for her to make, which made celebrating it even more special.

Janet Jackson commemorated the 25th anniversary of her 1997 album, “The Velvet Rope” with a surprise party at Soho House in London.

“Hey you guys. Thank you so much… this is such an incredible moment for me. I love you so much… and I am going to go into ‘The Velvet Rope’ 25th anniversary party right now and surprise all of my friends and fans,” she said via Instagram Live before entering the bash.

A secret invite was sent out last week inviting guests to “a private celebration for the icon herself.”

Inside the party, the senior vice president of her Rhythm Nation entertainment company, Joey Harris, introduced the reclusive Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, who reluctantly spoke to the crowd.

Jackson described “The Velvet Rope” album as her most difficult to record.

“They asked me to come and say a few words to you guys and you know how I am… I’m not a talker,” she said.

Jackson’s longtime producer and pal Jimmy Jam appeared on a screen — with a bobble head of his production partner, Terry Lewis. The album’s theme largely explored the singer’s journey with depression and self-love long before it became a pop culture trend to open up publicly about mental health.

“Out of all the albums that I created, and especially with Jimmy and Terry, it was the most difficult album for me to create,” she told the crowd.

“I was going through so much in my life, and it was so deep in trying to find and figure out who I am, where I stand… It’s the closest project I’ve ever done to my heart, so thank you guys once again for all of this,” she added.
