Meghan Markle joins Prince Harry, royal family at Queen’s funeral

Meghan Markle joined Prince Harry and the royal family as they walked behind Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin at the monarch’s funeral Monday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex walked behind Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, as the casket made its way into Westminster Abbey. Ahead of the youngsters in the procession walked their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, the recently named Prince and Princess of Wales.

We’re told 4-year-old Prince Louis – who’s been known to draw attention with his wild antics – sat out of the historic event because of his young age.

The walk came after Markle, 41, and Middleton, 40, sat out of the procession from Westminster Hall to the Abbey.

The extended reunion of Markle, 41, and Harry, 38, with William and Middleton, both 40, has been making headlines since the Queen died on Sept. 8.

A source close to Harry told the Sunday Times of London that although being in each other’s company has been “uncomfortable” for the estranged brothers, “everybody is trying their best.”

Harry and William delighted fans when they and their respective wives came together on Sept. 10 to view floral tributes and cards laid outside of Windsor Castle in honor of the late sovereign.

The former “Fab Four” also appeared to put on a united front as they sat down for dinner together on Sept. 13 with other royal family members after receiving the Queen’s coffin.

William and Harry additionally stood vigil — alongside their cousins — by their late grandmother’s casket Saturday evening.

Harry wore his military uniform after getting special permission from his father, King Charles III. He had previously been forced to wear civilian clothes to public events since the Queen died, as he had been stripped of his military titles when he stepped down from his royal duties in 2020.

The Queen’s family are among 500 foreign dignitaries, including President Biden and first lady Jill Biden, to attend Monday’s funeral and pay tribute to the late monarch, who died at age 96 after a historic 70-year reign.
