Paris Hilton slams aunt Kyle Richards as ‘unkind’ in mom Kathy’s ‘tequila-gate’
Paris Hilton defended her mom, Kathy Hilton, after “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fans called out the cast, including her aunt Kyle Richards, for “mocking” Kathy for promoting a tequila brand.
“So unkind🥺,” Paris, 41, tweeted Thursday when a fan said it was “sad to watch” Richards, 53, “scoff” when Kathy, 63, attempted to show Casa Del Sol during a group trip to Aspen, Colo. in Wednesday’s episode.
The “Simple Life” alum received support from former “RHOBH” star Denise Richards, who tweeted, “I felt bad for her you could see her feelings were genuinely hurt & the preview with rinna going out of her way to take a dig.”
Kathy initially gathered the ladies after dinner when she tried to encourage them to “bottoms up” the tequila that she, daughter Nicky Hilton and son-in-law James Rothschild invested in.
“I’d like you guys to try,” the fan favorite said before Richards interrupted her with a buzzing noise and then continued talking to Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne instead of helping her half-sister.
To add fuel to the fire, many of the women had either eaten weed edibles or consumed alcohol at dinner.
Rinna, 59, quipped to the ladies that “Kathy’s talking,” but after Kathy suggested the ladies do a shot, she and Jayne, 51, immediately shut her down.
The “Paris in Love” star also “liked” several tweets from fans who found the situation “evil.”
“@ParisHilton has her own 20+ year career that includes shows, movies, music and being a public persona. @KathyHilton also has more connections with well known people than Kyle could ever dream. Kyle fought for relevancy through a show. Kathy & Paris already had it #RHOBH,” one “liked” tweet read.
Several other fans pointed out how it was unfair Rinna got a whole tasting to promote Rinna Wines, and Richards’ husband Mauricio Umansky’s real estate company The Agency frequently gets featured – including for finding the cast’s rental house in Aspen.
“Kathy wants to promote her family’s tequila and they all dismiss her. They all use the show for promo, so it’s rich to think she shouldn’t,” someone else wrote in a “liked” tweet.
“I can’t believe Kathy was laughed at and mocked for introducing a tequila line. This cast is evil and ugly #RHOBH,” another “liked” tweet read.
It appears that “tequila-gate” only escalates in next week’s episode when, in a sneak peek, Rinna asks for a shot of her “friend” Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand, 818, in front of Kathy – who told her right before that the bar had Casa Del Sol.
“Oh, I want to try Kendall Jenner’s 818,” Kathy said in a high-pitched voice mocking Rinna before changing back to a stern voice. “In front of me here right now, and Kyle doesn’t do a f–king thing. I am f–king pissed off.”
