Camila Cabello revealed one of the songs on her new album, “Familia,” is about her icy departure from Fifth Harmony.

In “Psychofreak,” which features Willow Smith, Cabello sings, “Everybody says they miss the old me / I been on this ride since I was 15 / I don’t blame the girls for how it went down, down.”

The “Havana” singer, 25, confirmed to Reuters Thursday that the lyrics refer to Normani, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane but also address the struggles she has faced since the girl group’s formation on “The X Factor” in 2012.

“That song is basically about anxiety and all of the different things that have made up, like, my journey with anxiety and starting off really young in the industry,” she explained.

Cabello then shared that while she only occasionally talks to her former groupmates these days, their communications are positive.

“We have been, like, supportive of each other through, like, DMs and stuff,” she told the news agency. “I’m, like, in a really good place with them.”

Fifth Harmony announced in 2016 that Cabello had quit the girl group, infamously saying in a statement on social media that they had “been informed via her representatives.”

Hours later, the Cuba native released a statement of her own, saying in part that “the girls were aware of [her] feelings” and it was “simply not true” she had left them in the dust.

Fifth Harmony then posted a second statement claiming Cabello had “refused” to discuss her future with them despite repeated and “exhausted efforts.”

The “Work From Home” singers went on an indefinite hiatus in 2018, following Cabello’s lead in pursuing solo careers.
