Teddi Mellencamp waiting on results of skin cancer test

Teddi Mellencamp is waiting on the results of a skin cancer test after her doctor told her she may have melanoma on her back.

“I had been avoiding [getting my skin checked] bc of my own anxiety for a very long time but when [Kyle Richards] saw my back and it had changed colors again, she immediately took me to the doc who within minutes said it looks like melanoma and did a big removal,” Mellencamp, 40, wrote on Instagram Thursday.

The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star shared that she is trying to “stay present and positive” as she continues to work while awaiting her results.

“Grateful that I am busy to keep my mind from racing as I await the results,” she wrote. “I find strength in being honest with you all and hope this helps others.”

Mellencamp wanted to share her story with 1 million Instagram followers to spread awareness and make sure that they are getting their skin checked, too.

“Please let this be a reminder to take action on your own skin. Give me a 💕 if you have recently gotten a check or are booking one today,” she concluded.

The reality TV star also posted a photo of the dark mark on her skin that doctors believed could have been melanoma as well as another graphic picture of where the skin was removed on her upper back.

In another photo, Mellencamp posed in full glam with a bandage over the gash.

Friends and fans of the former Bravolebrity flooded the comments section with well-wishes.

Mellencamp also shared a video to her Instagram Story in which she got in a workout as a way to keep herself distracted.

“One foot in front of another. Walking out my worries. committing to me,” she captioned the video.
