Queen Elizabeth being monitored for COVID after Charles tests positive

Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly being closely “monitored” after the monarch came in contact with her son, Prince Charles, just two days before he tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Us Weekly, the 73-year-old royal heir saw Queen Elizabeth on Tuesday when he visitied Windsor Castle to present Investiture honors.

The Queen has yet to show any COVID-19 symptoms.

“This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating,” Clarence House announced in a statement on Thursday.

“HRH [His Royal Highness] is deeply disappointed not to be able to attend today’s events in Winchester and will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible.”

“He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual,” the statement continued. “It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”

He also battled coronavirus in March 2020.

Both Charles and wife, future “Queen Consort,” Camilla Parker Bowles, received the COVID-19 vaccine in February 2021, following it up with a booster shot in December.

“People who are unvaccinated are at least 10 times more likely to be hospitalised or die than those who have had two vaccine doses,” the couple said in a statement at the time. “That is why we urge everyone to get vaccinated and to take up the booster, as we have done ourselves.”
