Shanna Moakler and Matthew Rondeau’s relationship has taken a positive turn.
Rondeau exclusively told Page Six Thursday morning that he and Moakler hit a rough patch over the summer but are back together and better than ever.
“I admit…at the time.. things were very difficult especially in our personal lives, which made things hard to focus on one another,” Rondeau wrote in a Notes app message to us, referring to the July interview he gave in which he said he was “happier” than ever without Moakler.
“However, Shanna and I have truly found what we needed more of and what was missing just to focus on the fun in life with one another and not letting anyone or anything take that away from us.”
While Rondeau, 29, did not specify what personal issues each of them were going through, it’s likely he was partly referring to the former Playboy model’s ongoing estrangement from her children, whom she shares with ex-husband Travis Barker.
Moakler, 46, hasn’t spoken to her kids since the Blink-182 drummer, 45, began dating Kourtney Kardashian in January.
“I want them all to have a great relationship. I don’t have animosity toward them. I’m not jealous of them,” Moakler previously told Page Six of Barker and the Poosh founder’s relationship. “I wish them really truly nothing but the best. I just don’t want them interfering with my children and I’s relationships.”
While she remains on the outs with 18-year-old Landon and 15-year-old Alabama, Moakler appears to be focusing on life with Rondeau.
“Were [sic] just taking things day by day living our best life as a team and I truly am happy knowing that shes [sic] by my side as we both continue to work hard everyday [sic] on our individual goals,” the actor and model ended his note.
Rondeau’s message came hours after Moakler shared a photo booth collage of the pair on her Instagram Story, confirming they were back on.
She shared the pictures after Barker tattooed over his ink dedicated to his ex-wife with a new one for Kardashian, 42, to whom he got engaged earlier this month.
