Brooke Shields got emotional dropping her eldest daughter off at college, saying it was the “saddest drive” when the family said their goodbyes.
“My unique and extraordinary baby girl spreading her wings. I love you so,” Shields captioned a series of photos from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
One photo shows the whole family, including Shields’ younger daughter Grier, 15, and her husband, Chris Henchy gathered in 18-year-old Rowan’s new dorm room.
“We are so proud of you,” Shields wrote. “This was the saddest drive away from anywhere I’ve ever had to make. But my baby is BEGINNING one of the most important adventures of her life to date…NOW!”
She also posted video of the campus, as well as a snapshot of Shields, 56, and her daughter hugging in front of one of the college’s buildings.
Fellow mom Christie Brinkley — who told Page Six back in 2016 that she was emotional when her kids Jack and Sailor left home — commented, “Major milestone emotional moment❤️❤️😢😂🍸.”
Supermodel Helena Christensen chimed in, “Know how it feels baby sending you and Chris love and also so much love to your beautiful daughter ❤️❤️❤️.”
Ali Wentworth lent her support, writing, “I got the net right here ready to catch you!!!!❤️”
“Amazing!👏 I know that drive.Growing pains.But everyone stronger from it!” Debi Mazar wrote.
Shields and her daughter appear to be extremely close, as they got matching ladybug tattoos earlier this summer to celebrate Rowan’s graduation.
The “Blue Lagoon” star got her tattoo on her wrist, while the college student got hers on her inner ankle.
Rowan also wore Shields’ famous red 1998 Golden Globes gown to her high school prom in June.
