Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards is a mom.
The singer gave birth to her first child early Saturday morning. Edwards and her boyfriend, English footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, announced the news on Instagram along with the first photos of their newborn.
“Welcome to the world baby 21/08/21 ♥️,” Edwards captioned two black and white photos of her child.
One photo shows the baby’s full head of hair, while the other appears to be the infant’s tiny foot inside Oxlade-Chamberlain’s hand. Neither snap shows the baby’s face.
Oxlade-Chamberlain echoed Edwards’ post, welcoming their baby by sharing a pic of both their hands cradling their newborn’s foot.
This is the first child for both Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Edwards announced she was pregnant in May, just three months prior to giving birth.
“So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate,” she wrote at the time, captioning two black and white photos of herself pregnant with Oxlade-Chamberlain cradling her baby bump. “Me + Him = You 🌎♥️ We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!”
Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain, who were first rumored to be dating in Nov. 2016, went public with their romance in Jan. 2017, per The UK Sun.
They later made things Instagram-official when Edwards shared a photo of the couple kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris a month later.
Edwards was previously in a relationship with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik. The couple dated for four years before splitting in 2015, with Edwards later revealing Malik dumped her via text message.
