Melissa Joan Hart shares she contracted breakthrough COVID-19: ‘It’s bad’

Melissa Joan Hart tearfully shared she contracted breakthrough COVID-19 despite being vaccinated.

The “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” alum took to Instagram from her bed to detail her symptoms and warn those against getting “lazy” in the fight against the pandemic.

“I got COVID. I am vaccinated, and I got COVID and it’s bad. It’s weighing on my chest. It’s hard to breathe,” Hart, 45, said in the video.

“One of my kids I think has it so far. I’m praying that the other ones are OK.”

Hart said she’s “really mad” because she and her family were vigilant in taking precautions and cutting “exposure” but admitted to becoming more lax.

“We got a little lazy, and I think as a country we got lazy,” she continued, “and I’m really mad they didn’t have to wear masks at school. I’m pretty sure thats where this came from, and [there’s] nothing I can do about it now.”

The “Clarissa Explains It All” alum shares three children with husband Mark Wilkerson and credited her youngest child, who doesn’t have COVID, for being a “superhero” for always wearing his mask at school and protecting his teachers and fellow classmates.

“I’m just scared and sad and disappointed in myself,” she said of contracting the novel virus.

Hart ended her message by urging her followers to “stay vigilant and stay safe.”

Alongside the message, the former “Melissa & Joey” star said she wasn’t sharing the video to “be political or gain pity.

“I just want to share my journey,” she added. “This isn’t up for debate, it’s just how I feel today on my page.”
