Andrew Dice Clay diagnosed with Bell’s palsy

Andrew Dice Clay has Bell’s palsy.

The stand-up comedian, 63, was diagnosed with the paralyzing condition after waking up a few weeks ago and noticing his face was drooping, his rep told TMZ Friday.

Clay went to a doctor to find out what caused the droop, as he didn’t believe he had suffered a stroke.

The doctor diagnosed the Diceman with Bell’s palsy but said it should subside in a few weeks, according to the report.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke states that Bell’s palsy is “a form of temporary facial paralysis or weakness on one side of the face” and is “the most common cause of facial paralysis, although its exact cause is unknown.”

The condition’s symptoms appear “suddenly” over the course of two to three days but can improve without treatment “after a few weeks,” per the NINDS. Recovery can take about six months in some cases.

Clay didn’t let the diagnosis get him down and still performed earlier this week at a New Jersey comedy club.

Some audience members told TMZ that the actor had a puffy face and slurred speech, which they thought was a part of his act before he addressed his condition.

Clay is not expected to cancel his upcoming New York and Texas gigs.

He also recently attended his “A Star Is Born” co-star Lady Gaga’s concert with Tony Bennett in New York City.

Clay began to return to his stand-up roots in 2019 after a 20-year hiatus.
