Kevin Shattenkirk celebrates Stanley Cup win by chugging out of trophy

Former Tampa Bay Lightning player Kevin Shattenkirk celebrated the team’s Stanley Cup win by joyously chugging out of the famed trophy, Page Six can exclusively reveal.

The defenseman, who now plays for the Anaheim Ducks, marked his final 24 hours with the Cup with a private event on the roof of the Gansevoort Meatpacking Hotel on Saturday, never letting the trophy leave his side. The hotel, including the roof, recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation.

An insider told Page Six that Shattenkirk, 32, poured Bud Light and cocktails into both the Cup and a massive ice sculpture in the shape of his jersey number, 22 — and drank from both. We also hear that Shattenkirk attempted to open a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Balthazar 12L himself and embarrassingly broke the cork, so his manager had to pull it out with a wine key.

Other players in attendance included Brandon Yip, Colby Cohen and Eric Thomassian.

Shattenkirk, who scored the winning goal in Game Five in 2020 with the Tampa Bay Lightning, was unable to celebrate last year’s win because of the pandemic, but it’s clear he more than made up for lost time—and was able to celebrate the team’s 2021 Stanley Cup win against the Montreal Canadiens as well.

Following the 2020 season, Shattenkirk signed a 3-year contract with Anaheim for a reported $11.7 million.
