Prince William wishes England soccer team ‘best of luck’ in Euro 2020 final

Prince William sent England’s soccer team the “very best of luck” on Sunday as the players headed into the Euro 2020 final in London.

The Duke of Cambridge, who is president of England’s Football Association, released the video message on Instagram praising team manager Gareth Southgate and the players before the match against Italy.

“What a team performance it’s been, every member of the squad has played their part,” he said in the video.

“Just wish you the very best of luck. You bring out the very best of England and we are all behind you, the whole country is behind you so bring it home.”

The game will be England’s first tournament final since 1966, when they won the World Cup.

Queen Elizabeth on Saturday wished the best to Southgate in a message posted to Instagram.

“I want to send my congratulations and that of my family to you all on reaching the final of the European Championships, and send my good wishes for tomorrow with the hope that history will record not only your success but also the spirit, commitment and pride with which you have conducted yourselves,” she wrote.
