Yankees great CC Sabathia gets stuck in Union Square elevator, rescued by FDNY

It was a swing and a near-miss.

Former Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia was stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes and required rescuing from the FDNY at the Rookie USA grand opening in Union Square on Thursday, we’re told.

Sabathia, 40, was trapped inside the elevator with the organizer of the event and his family but never lost his cool despite the nerve-wracking ordeal.

“He had his game face on the whole time and kept everyone calm in the elevator,” our source shared. “When they got him out he said, ‘Thank you, New York’s Bravest!'”

Perhaps CC was showing restraint in not simply just wrenching the doors open à la Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He told The Post’s Yankees podcast “Pinstripe Pod” in April that he started working out after his 2019 retirement with the goal of “[looking] like the Rock.” And Queens rapper Action Bronson recently chalked up his own 130-pound weight loss to pre-dawn “torture chamber” workouts at a New Jersey gym with Sabathia, “going hard as we can f–king possibly go.”

Sabathia’s kids, Carter and Cyia, also attended the event, which launched Russell Wilson’s 3BRAND children’s clothing line. The kids also served as two of the many child models who walked the runway to show off Wilson’s designs.

Other celebrity kid models included Victor Cruz’s daughter Kennedy, actress Dascha Planco’s son Aryam, Tiki Barber’s daughters Brooklyn and Teagan and many more.

Wilson’s wife, pop star Ciara, as well as Peloton trainer Ally Love, Adrienne Bailon, Fabolous and Keyshawn Johnson were also on hand to celebrate the Seattle Seahawks quarterback’s launch.
