Tituss Burgess is thrilled that he’s going to spend his summer commenting on hot people hooking up.
The “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star, 42, is set to guest host “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 7, as Page Six exclusively reported last week. He will take turns with former *NSYNC singer Lance Bass, rapper Lil Jon and “Saturday Night Live” alum David Spade.
“Non-scripted TV is my guilty pleasure,” Burgess told Page Six. “I absolutely love it. I’ll be like a hog in s–t hosting this show.”
The Broadway star added that he loves “the drama, the fun, the ‘reality’ and all the hot men — I mean, all the hot people.”
Burgess is so excited, in fact, that he admitted he’s not particularly concerned if any of the contestants aren’t there for “the right reasons.”
“I’m not there for the right reasons!” he quipped.
The news of the colorful crew of co-hosts came after longtime host Chris Harrison left the entire “Bachelor” franchise over his controversial comments on race.
In February, Harrison, 49, was criticized when he defended former “Bachelor” contestant Rachael Kirkconnell after pictures emerged of her attending an antebellum-styled party in college. Kirkconnell, 24, eventually apologized, while Harrison reportedly walked away from the show with an eight-figure payoff.
As Burgess prepares to enter the “Bachelor” world, he has another scandal in his rearview mirror. He recently made headlines for defending his “Kimmy” co-star and pal Ellie Kemper, who came under fire in late May for being named the queen of a ball with alleged ties to white supremacy when she was a teen.
Burgess told Page Six that he has since spoken to the actress, 41, on the phone.
“We’re going to leave it at that,” he said before adding, “My Ellie is doing wonderful. Ellie’s great.”
The “Match Game” panelist previously voiced his support for Kemper on Instagram, writing, “I love my Ellie ❤️” after she issued an apology over the ball’s allegedly “racist, sexist, and elitist past.”
