Swizz Beatz is walking back comments he made about Justin Timberlake during Sunday’s “Verzuz” episode.

“I was just having fun,” Swizz Beatz said in a recap with his battle partner Timbaland on Tuesday. “I don’t got no problem with JT. I don’t got a problem with nobody. We’re just having fun. It’s called ‘Verzuz.'”

Star producer Beatz had called out the “Cry Me a River” singer during Sunday’s live show, saying, “You took from the black culture, you give to the black culture. Come to Verzuz and be a part of the black culture.”

In the recap, Timbaland said Beatz, né Kasseem Dean, “went a little hard” on Timberlake, to which Beatz replied with a laugh, “It’s hip hop.”

But Beatz, 42, concluded with a “shoutout” to Timberlake, 40, saying, “We can’t wait to get you on stage, having fun, because you deserve it, too.”

Timberlake apparently has no hard feelings, posting an old clip of him and Beatz dancing in the studio to Instagram on Tuesday with the caption, “Congrats to @timbaland and @therealswizzz for one year of Verzuz! 👍”

Fans on social media were quick to call out Beatz’s comments, however, since the pair have history together.

One tweet read, “I’m gonna need Swizz Beatz to be consistent about Justin Timberlake. He was loving Filthy off MOTW… & Just Be a few weeks ago. #VERZUZ”

Another user on Instagram called Beatz’ remarks “tasteless,” adding, “It’s so many other non black people doing black people’s music. You can’t accept others and not accept Justin Timberlake.”

Reps for Timberlake and Timbaland declined to comment. Beatz’s rep did not return Page Six’s request for comment.
