After a pandemic slowdown, the Hamptons are heating up again for this summer — with sold-out hotels, packed rentals, endless helicopters and sky-high prices on just about everything.
Hotspot Surf Lodge in Montauk is so worried about the crowds, they’re asking people to please stay away.
We hear the popular venue is ramping up their security presence in preparation for a busy weekend. And while New York State is easing up on COVID-19 regulations, the property is not.
Guests will be able to make restaurant reservations, but must stay at their tables as there is no standing room at the bar.
Anyone who shows up to the property without a reservation can expect to be turned away by one of the 12 security guards owner Jayma Cardoso has hired, we’re told.
There are also plenty of other options. Over at the old Sloppy Tuna spot, Bounce is opening up a classy beach bar. Matt James, the first black “Bachelor” star in the franchise and fellow Bachelor Nation star Tyler Cameron will host the kick-off.
Monatuk Beach House — which is offering free rides in BMWs to hotel guests all summer — will have DJs and live music by the pool.
Over in Southampton, author Leesa Rowland will sign copies of her new book, “The Charisma Factor,” at T Bar while guests are served cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Also in Southampton, the Animal Shelter Foundation will host a private bash for honorary board member and society fixture Jean Shafiroff.
In the meantime, a 5,000-square-foot luxury marketplace called One will open in East Hampton with a tasting by Wöllfer Estate Vineyards.
And for those needing to sweat out all the booze, Gurney’s Montauk will offer classes Pulsed By Julie D and EmBody, while Gurney’s Star Island will have a class called Flexit.
Hamptons staple Tracey Anderson is open again in Water Mill, and will later open a Body Lab in East Hampton that will feature her latest creation: The $100,000 “Anderson Moto Air Pro Reformer” workout machine.
Water Mill will also be the site of first live Hamptons Classic horse show to go on since the pandemic started.
