There’s a new little Perrie Edwards in the mix.
The Little Mix singer revealed she is expecting her first child with her longtime boyfriend, soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, on Instagram Monday.
“So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate,” the 27-year-old singer captioned two black-and-white photos of herself with Oxlade-Chamberlain. “Me + Him = You 🌎♥️ We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!”
Oxlade-Chamberlain posted the same photos on his own account, writing: “Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies? so grateful and excited to become a dad ❤️ bring on the sleepless nights.”
One of the photos is a close-up of Edwards’ bare pregnant stomach with Oxlade-Chamberlain’s hands holding her sides. In the second photo, Oxlade-Chamberlain is holding Edwards from behind as the two smile excitedly.
This will be the first child for both Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Edwards’ announcement comes just days after her fellow Little Mix groupmate, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, announced she was expecting her first child. Pinnock was quick to share her excitement over their double pregnancies, commenting: “Arghhhhhhhh so so so happy for you both! And so bloody happy we get to go on this journey together! Love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
The third member of Little Mix, Jade Thirlwall, also shared her congratulations in the comments. “Beaming for you both ♥️. I’m the luckiest auntie in the world! Love youuuuu x.”
Little Mix’s fourth member, Jesy Nelson, announced she was leaving the band in December for mental health reasons. “Being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health,” she explained. “I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.”
