Dr. Viviana Coles teases ‘Married at First Sight: Unmatchables’

Dr. Viviana Coles is going from “Married at First Sight” to looking for love at first sight.

The celebrity therapist and certified sex therapist is helping 16 unlucky-in-love people find their way in the dating pool on the new “Married at First Sight” spinoff, “Married at First Sight: Unmatchables.” Coles — alongside fan-favorite Pastor Calvin Roberson — will give participants relationship advice and lifestyle makeovers over the course of a week to help them find their perfect matches.

“We have 75,000 people who have applied to be ‘Married at First Sight,’ and unfortunately, we can’t find a match for all of them,” Coles told Page Six in a new interview. “But there were a lot of people out there who really, really want to have love and deserve to find love. So this is our way of working with the people who aren’t yet ready for marriage, may not even be ready for dating, and we can just take them that extra step and get them a little bit closer to their finish line with a blind date.”

The participants range from 24-year-olds to 39-year-olds, so fans can expect to see a range of unsuitable behavior.

Without naming the contestant, Coles teased that one female participant in particular “has not even had a kiss in the last two years.”

“She doesn’t even really know how to kiss,” she said. “She’s just so far removed from dating and has really taken herself out of the game, so to say. And she really jumped into the deep end with ‘Unmatchables’ and was so open to our feedback, all of our makeover pieces and segments. All of that was something that she really took to like a sponge. And you could really tell that her heart is in the right place. She needed to have a little nudge, maybe a bit of a shove into dating and really thinking like a person who wants love. She was amazing.”

While Coles encouraged participants to change some of their behaviors, she explained that not every bad habit is a negative thing.

“Little quirks here and there are not a big deal,” she said. “I think we should all be unique. I think the quirkiness, the awkwardness, the funny pieces of us are what make us special and unique. But if there are habits that you have repeatedly gotten feedback on that aren’t attractive, just don’t really hit the spot for other people, then sometimes it’s OK to say, ‘You know what, I need to change. I need to make this change. And if I can’t do it on my own, I need to reach out for help.'”

“Married at First Sight: Unmatchables” — produced by Kinetic Content — premieres April 21 at 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
