Justin Theroux is still friends with ex Jennifer Aniston: ‘We FaceTime’

Justin Theroux still communicates with his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, three years after their separation.

“I would say we’ve remained friends,” the “Mulholland Drive” star, 49, said in his Esquire cover story published on Thursday. “We don’t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text.”

Denying that they had a “dramatic split,” he added, “I’m sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship.”

Theroux went on to note that he and the “Friends” alum, 52, “can not be together and still bring each other joy and friendship.”

“Also, she makes me laugh very, very hard. She’s a hilarious person,” he raved. “It would be a loss if we weren’t in contact, for me personally. And I’d like to think the same for her.”

Following their December 2017 split, Page Six reported that the former couple — who started dating in 2011 and secretly married four years later — broke things off because Aniston wanted to live on the West Coast while Theroux preferred the East Coast.

“Jennifer is more comfortable in Los Angeles with her close-knit group of friends. But Justin doesn’t feel as at home in LA, nor with Jennifer’s friends,” a source told us in February 2018. “He loves New York and the edgier crowd in the city.”

The source added, “As they spent more and more time apart, their problems became bigger.”

Theroux acknowledged in his Esquire interview that there was some truth in our report, though he insisted that he and Aniston were on the same page “for the most part” about where they wanted to live when they were together.

The owner of the NYC dive bar Ray’s did not further elaborate on the cause of their split, but he reiterated why he and the “Morning Show” star have been able to stay on good terms years later.

“I think that when you get good at relationships — and here I am, single — if you love the person the same way you loved them in the relationship, it would behoove you to love them the same way out of the relationship,” he explained.
