Courtney Stodden comes out as non-binary: ‘My spirit is fluid’

Courtney Stodden said they identify as non-binary and shared their new pronouns: they/them/their.

“They/them/theirs. I don’t Identify as she or her. I’ve never felt like I ever fit in anywhere. I was bullied horribly in school because I was different,” Stodden announced Tuesday on Twitter.

“The other girls never understood me. I never really connected with anyone my age. My spirit is fluid w a kaleidoscope of color.”

Stodden became a household name after they married actor Doug Hutchison in 2011 when they were just 16 and he was 51. Stodden’s mother had to give her consent for her daughter to marry as the age of consent in California was 18.

Stodden suffered a miscarriage in 2016 and later said the loss caused turmoil in their marriage.

“I think when a couple faces a difficult trial in life together, whatever that may be, it either tears you apart or brings you together,” they said. “I think right now we’re kind of in the kind of crossroad point where we’re trying to figure it out.”

Stodden filed for divorce in 2018.

Last year, Stodden was spotted hanging out with Brian Austin Green, whom they met online, after he and Megan Fox split. They posted a bizarre video of shirtless Green and he spoke out about Stodden’s choice to share the clip the day he had a date with model Tina Louise.

“I was just trying to be a nice guy and I shot a video for her friend Ashley, saying hello,” Green said of the clip, adding that it was shot a month prior to her post. “The fact that she decided to post that the day Tina and I had lunch — knowing that it would create problems for Tina and myself, having three kids — it kind of sucks.”

Green is now dating Sharna Burgess.
