‘RHOC’ alum Kara Keough gives birth to baby boy 1 year after son’s death

“Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Kara Keough has shared the happy news that she and husband Kyle Bosworth recently welcomed a new baby — one year after suffering the tragic loss of a newborn.

Keough said Saturday that the couple’s new son, Vaughn Mack, was born on March 31 — six days before what would have been the first birthday of the baby the couple lost in 2020, little McCoy.

“The day McCoy was born, I started writing a story. Our story. I don’t typically like to spoil the ending, but in this case the ending is a new beginning,” Keough posted Saturday to Instagram.

“Introducing Decker and McCoy’s baby brother: Vaughn Mack Bosworth. Measuring at 20.5 inches and weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces of heaven-sent sweetness.”

“His name means ‘small/little’ and ‘hope,'” Keough, 32, added on Instagram.

“It’s not lost on us that if we hadn’t lost Mack, we’d never know Vaughn. And yet, here he is, an unexpected serendipity. A little hope.”

Keough and Bosworth, who are also parents to 5-year-old daughter Decker, lost newborn son McCoy shortly after his birth in April 2020.

McCoy had experienced a “compressed umbilical cord” and “shoulder dystocia,” a birth injury that occurs when “one or both of the baby’s shoulders get stuck inside the mother’s pelvis,” according to the March of Dimes.

“May it be said that McCoy Casey Bosworth left this world in a better place, for a better place…. that he made an impact… that he was an answered prayer… that he was a hero,” Keough posted at the time.

Keough and Bosworth, 34, have been married since 2014.
