The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a sweet gesture to a London women’s community center — the day after leveling stomach-churning allegations at the royal family.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sent “a thoughtful and tasty gift” to the Hubb Community Kitchen through Luminary Bakery to mark International Women’s Day on Monday, said the all-female social-justice sweets shop on Instagram.
The bakery posted a photo of elegant fruit tarts next to a letter from the Sussexes addressed to the community kitchen, which caters to women.
“We wanted to write and offer a small (and delicious!) gift to thank you for all you do,” the royal couple wrote.
“We are honoured to know such an amazing and inspiring group of women.”
Markle helped create a cookbook with the charity kitchen in 2018 called, “Together: Our Community Cookbook.”
The bakery, which helps victimized and formerly incarcerated women, made Markle’s birthday carrot cake in August 2019.
The Sussexes’ gift Monday came the day after their TV chat with Oprah Winfrey aired, in which they claimed someone in the royal family raised “concerns” over how dark their son Archie’s skin would be, and that Markle had suicidal thoughts while pregnant.
