Miranda Kerr’s grandmother dies two weeks after grandfather’s funeral

Model Miranda Kerr is mourning the loss of her grandmother, who died just two weeks after her grandfather was laid to rest.

Kerr, 37, took to Instagram Tuesday to announce the passing of her grandmother, affectionately known as Nan, revealing that the family matriarch died the previous Saturday.

“My darling Nan passed last week on the 27th of February. Nan there are no words to describe how grateful my heart is for you,” she began her tribute.

“You are the heart of our family. You’re the reason we’re all so close,” she continued. “You’re the reason we have faith. You’re the reason we are all cheeky. You’ve put a twinkle in all our eyes. You’ve brought so much light and love into this world through everyone you have met. Everyone who has met you has been uplifted by your presence.”

Kerr went on to praise her grandmother for instilling the best of herself into their family, including her sense of humor and compassion for others.

“You will continue to live through me, our children and all our family,” Kerr added. “Your loving, kindness and generosity of spirit will never be forgotten. Until I see you in heaven, please know you’ll always be my sunshine. ☀️💖☀️. Give Pa a big hug from me.  I love you both more than words could ever express🙏🏻.

Kerr’s grandfather was laid rest on Valentine’s Day, just 13 days before her grandmother’s death. Kerr didn’t reveal her grandparents’ names, but The Sun said they were Anna and Pete.

“Today we laid my grandfather’s body to rest but his spirit will continue to live through our family and all those he loved,” Kerr wrote at the time.

She also shared a childhood photo with her grandfather, as well as one of both of her grandparents dressed to the nines for her 2017 wedding to Evan Spiegel.
