Priyanka Chopra claims she was asked to leave film set over equal pay

Priyanka Chopra says that a movie producer told her she “should leave” his film set if she wasn’t willing to be paid less than her male co-stars.

In an upcoming interview with the podcast “Skimm’d from The Couch,” the “Quantico” star says the exec told her she could “take the paycheck which was nominal compared” to those of the men in the cast — or take a hike.

The 38-year-old claims producers told her, “There’s so many other girls who will take this opportunity. And, you know, women in movies are interchangeable.”

She decided to stay on the shoot.

“I didn’t do anything about it,” she says. “I had to work within the system because that’s what we’re told, that, ‘You know, if you want this job … this is the only way.'”

“It took almost 15 years for me to get to that place where, you know, I could stand my ground,” she says in the interview. “It took hearing the conversations from other women banding together to give me the confidence to stand up for myself.”
