Morgan Wallen apologizes for using N-word

Morgan Wallen has apologized for using a racial slur in a leaked video.

In the video, obtained by TMZ, the country crooner can be seen walking to his Nashville home and telling someone to “take care of” this “pussy ass motherf–ker.” “Take care of this pussy ass n—-r,” he adds in the video, which features the singer and friends.

“I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back,” Wallen, 27, said in a statement given to ET. “There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”

Wallen’s rep didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Country stars Maren Morris and Mickey Guyton spoke out against the “Still Goin Down” singer, claiming this was not his first time using the racial epithet.

“It actually IS representative of our town because this isn’t his first ‘scuffle’ and he just demolished a huge streaming record last month regardless,” Morris tweeted. “We all know it wasn’t his first time using that word. We keep them rich and protected at all costs with no recourse.”

“This is not his first time using that ‘unacceptable’ racial slur and we all known that. So what exactly are y’all going to do about it. Crickets won’t work this time,” Guyton wrote. “How many passes will you continue to give? Asking for a friend. No one deserves to be canceled but this is unacceptable.”

Wallen also came under fire in October when he was caught partying maskless amid the coronavirus pandemic prior to performing on “Saturday Night Live.” The NBC variety show booted him and rescheduled his performance. Jack White replaced him as performer following the controversy.
