‘That ‘70s Show’ actor Danny Masterson pleads not guilty to rape

Actor Danny Masterson pleaded not guilty to raping three women nearly two decades ago, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

The “That ’70s Show” star was arrested in June with three counts of rape in three separate incidents that occurred between 2001 and 2003, according to the Los Angeles District Attorneys Office.

Masterson allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman in the winter of 2001 and a 28-year-old woman in April 2003. He’s also been charged with raping another 23-year-old woman between fall and winter of 2003. The incidents allegedly occurred at his Hollywood Hills home, prosecutors said.

Lawyer Tom Mesereau says Masterson is innocent.

“We’re confident that he will be exonerated when all the evidence finally comes to light and witnesses have the opportunity to testify,” Mesereau said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter.

“Obviously, Mr. Masterson and his wife are in complete shock considering that these nearly 20-year old allegations are suddenly resulting in charges being filed, but they and their family are comforted knowing that ultimately the truth will come out,” he continued.. “The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and know the allegations to be false.”
