Tom Girardi secretly hospitalized for ‘serious illness’

Tom Girardi’s health is coming into question amid his Lion Air settlement lawsuit.

Attorneys for the estranged husband of reality star Erika Jayne said in documents filed Monday that Girardi, 81, suffered a “serious illness” in recent months for which he needed to be hospitalized, Us Weekly reported.

The documents further claim that Girardi “couched everything” related to his ongoing case due to his illness, which caused him to be away from his law firm.

Girardi’s lawyers also claim his hospitalization was the “mistake” that caused some families to not be paid in full.

As Page Six previously reported, Girardi and his Girardi Keese law firm were held in contempt of court on Monday and a $2 million judgment was issued against them for failing to explain where funds went in the Lion Air flight settlement.

The judge also ordered Girardi’s and his firm’s assets frozen as the case is ongoing.

Edelson PC, a class-action firm, sued Jayne, 49, and Girardi on behalf of the 2018 Lion Air flight victims earlier this month for allegedly embezzling the funds and attempting to conceal it through their “sham” divorce. The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star filed for divorce in November after two decades of marriage.
