FKA Twigs has responded to Sia’s allegations that Shia LaBeouf “conned” her into an “adulterous relationship,” telling the 44-year-old singer they “need to support each other.”
Over the weekend, Sia claimed she had been “hurt emotionally” by the “Transformers” star, 34, who is being sued by Twigs, 32, for alleged abuse during their relationship.
“I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single,” Sia tweeted Saturday night.
“I believe he’s very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away,” the “Chandelier” singer continued.
Twigs — who has accused LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress, according to the New York Times — tweeted a message Sunday to Sia.
“I’m sorry @Sia this reinforces why i had to publicly share my experience. we need to support each other <3,” Twigs wrote.
Twigs also replied to another message Sia posted, in which she wrote: “Also I love you @FKAtwigs. This. is very courageous and I’m very proud of you.”
“Love you back @Sia you’re an inspiration and thank you everyone for your love and solidarity.”
Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, met LaBeouf in 2018 when she was cast in his film “Honey Boy.” They started dating once filming wrapped.
In an email to the New York Times, LaBeouf responded: “I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel. I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
In addition to Twigs, stylist Karolyn Pho — who also dated LaBeouf — accused the actor of abuse. They were together from 2010-2012.
LaBeouf told the Times he’s “sober and a member of 12-step program.”
He married actress Mia Goth in 2016 before they split two years later. In March, however, they were spotted wearing wedding rings.
In the wake of Twigs’ lawsuit against LaBeouf, her boyfriend, The 1975’s Matty Healy, posted a supportive message Sunday on Instagram.
Reps for Sia and LaBeouf did not immediately return our request for comment.
