Convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein has tested negative for COVID-19, his rep said Thursday in a statement.
“We can report that Mr. Weinstein’s fever has dropped but is still being closely monitored,” said the disgraced mogul’s spokesman Juda Engelmayer. “We can also report at this time that he does not have COVID-19.”
After spiking a fever, Weinstein, 68, was tested for the virus Tuesday at Wende Correctional Facility and placed in isolation pending the results.
Engelmayer said Weinstein is being monitored closely at the upstate prison due to a myriad of underlying health issues, “which are continuing to decline, get worse, and need treatment.”
Weinstein — who suffers from high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes and a spine condition — was diagnosed with COVID-19 back in March.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the odds of contracting the virus more than once “remain rare.”
Weinstein is serving a 23-year sentence for raping an aspiring actress and sexually abusing a TV and film production assistant.
